Google Bard, the AI chatbot, has been launched in India, marking its availability on the official Google Bard website. During Google I/O 2023, the renowned search engine company announced that the chatbot would be accessible in over 180 countries, including India. Google Bard poses a direct competition to OpenAI’s ChatGPT.
To interact with the Google Bard AI chatbot, users can visit bard.google.com. While the chatbot is currently undergoing testing, users will be notified accordingly. Once informed, users can choose to “try Bard” by simply pressing the designated button. However, it is important to note that users must first accept the Privacy authorization in order to utilize Bard’s services.
Initially, the Google Bard chatbot was only accessible in the United States and the United Kingdom, barring visitors from India from signing up for the Academic waiting list. Despite its public release, Bard still exhibits some errors. Google warns users about the preliminary nature of Bard, stating that some of its responses may be incorrect. Therefore, users are advised to double-check the information provided by Bard.
What sets Google Bard apart from ChatGPT is its ability to stay up to date with the latest advancements and recent information. While ChatGPT’s knowledge is based on data up until September 2021, Bard can extract information from a single web page and reference sources to provide more comprehensive responses.
Moreover, Google Bard offers multiple drafts of responses to a given question, giving users the option to review and choose the most suitable one. On the other hand, ChatGPT provides a complete response in a more casual manner. As both platforms continue to evolve and release new updates, they are expected to expand further in their respective specialized markets.
